Export Space Planning Diagrams as PDFs

Creating and presenting early design ideas quickly can make or break a project. That’s why we’re excited to announce enhanced sheet export capabilities for massing models and space planning diagrams. You can now export color-coded plans with room tags and areas, save multiple sheets with custom sizes and scales, and iterate easily based on client feedback – all without leaving Snaptrude.

What’s New

Easily access all sheet settings from the new View Settings panel. This panel opens automatically when you click on the Views button. Here’s what has been added:

Canvas Settings

  • Background Color: Choose custom background colors for your canvas.
  • Color Mode: Switch between Texture and Monochrome modes.
  • View Toggle: Easily switch between Perspective and Isometric views.
  • Advanced Settings: Options to show axis and edges.

Visible Tag Settings

  • Visible Tag Settings: Each space you import from a program, or draw manually, has a label and area associated with it. You can now control when labels appear - always on or only on mouse hover.
  • Tag Content: Choose between Labels only or Labels + Areas.

Sheet Settings

  • Standard Sizes: Choose from ANSI, ARCH, and ISO standard sheet sizes.
  • Scale Options: Select from various Metric (1:50, 1:100, 1:150, 1:200) and Imperial (3/16" = 1', 1/8" = 1', 3/32" = 1', 1/16" = 1') scales.
  • Preview: Collapse all toolbars to visualize the extent of the plan captured in the sheet.
  • Save Sheet: Click to save the sheet and access it from the Views Tab. This option is only available when a valid sheet size and scale are selected.

Views Tab

  • Organized Sections: The Views Tab has now been divided into the following sections— Views & Sheets, Section, and Render.
  • View Management: Rename, update, or delete views and sheets easily.

Streamlined Export Process

  • Sheet-to-PDF: Export your saved sheets directly to PDF.
  • Multi-Sheet Exports: Select multiple sheets to export in one go.
  • Customizable Title Blocks: Add project details like scale, sheet name, project name, and company name to your exports.
  • Editable Room Tags: The exported PDFs maintain editable room tags, allowing for quick fixes and post production in tools like Adobe Suite.

With these enhancements, you can now complete your entire concept design workflow within Snaptrude - from program import and context analysis to massing, stacking, and exporting drawings. All on the same software!
